Because I'm bad and I keep going back to old stuff instead of making new stuff. 

I've been learning a lot in my classes, and supplementing that learning with reading, specifically at the moment James Gurney's Color and Light book. Holy poop, my mind keeps getting blown. Clearly, I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting a lot closer than I was. Highly recommend that book. 

I'm posting a side-by-side of this and the original in my scraps, if that kind of thing interests you.
